One of the most moving moments of the service on June 20th, 2010 centered in our Prayers for the World. As people named places around the world where there was distress resulting from natural disaster, human disaster or war, Pastor Linda attached a length of yarn to that site on a world map. Then she handed the other end of the length of yarn to one of the children.
By the time we finished praying for Haiti, China, Chile, and other places around the world, every child was holding a life-line uniting us to the world in need. This also became a fitting way to remember that our special offering for this month is the annual One Great Hour of Sharing offering that goes for disaster relief and refugee resettlement.
